Need Wedding Jewelry?

I hope the mods don't mind this, but I'm a Gainesvillian (Go Gators!) who makes jewelry and I'm trying to branch out to the wedding industry. Most of the jewelry I make is a mixture of contemporary materials with some vintage pieces thrown in for a unique kick. I work on commission and sell online through LiveJournal and

I've currently made three pieces of jewelry for weddings: a bride's necklace and bracelet, a bride's earrings, and a necklace for a maid of honor (well, that wasn't exactly for the maid of honor, she just happened to buy it because it matches her dress *lol*).

I have extremely reasonable rates and will work with your budget.

The necklace and bracelet I made for my first bride is a very funky piece. Her second wedding and she wanted something she could wear not just for the wedding but afterwards too. She actually wore the necklace several times before the wedding!

If you'd like to see more of my work please visit my LiveJournal at the_two_thieves (which also has an entry on why it has such a goofy name!) Let me make you some fabulous one of a kind jewelry!

Hello everyone!

My fiance and I have been engaged for about 2 years now, and have put off getting married until we finished school. I'm coming up on Graduation from FSU soon, and he's not too far behind me, so we're starting (very slowly) to plan the wedding. The date hasn't been set yet, but I figured getting my head around some of the big ideas of planning the wedding.

Anyway... we're from Tallahassee, I've lived here my entire life and he's lived here for most of his, but we'd really like to get married on Jacksonville Beach. The fact that its a public beach doesn't really bother me, and we want to do the reception at the Freebird Cafe which is right across the street from the beach. If any of your have ever been there, we just really love the laid back, beachy atmosphere of the place.

So I have a ton of questions, but I'll pace myself...

I had heard that since Jacksonville beach is public, there is only a small ordinance fee to have there ceremony on the beach. Is that true?

Since I live in Tallahassee and the wedding will be in Jacksonville (about 2 hours away) is it better to work with vendors in Jacksonville or Tallahassee? or a little bit of both?

Thanks a lot any help or insight you can offer, I'm definitely going to need it. :-)

So, I may or may not be getting married anymore.

For those of you in weddingplans, that's a bit of an improvement from yesterday. I don't want to spam WP with updates, things have gotten a little better, through an immense amount of effort, but I'd be delusional if I called them "fixed."

So, just saying. Here's hoping it works out for the best, whichever way that might be.
So in Love

We just set the date to do our engagement photos which is june 1st. but I have no idea on where to do them. So any South Florida brides out there that have suggestions please send them my way... we arent huge beach people so I  rather not do the beach thing if we can avoid it..  We want casual/ fun/ cute pictures of us with pretty scenery. We are getting married in a nature park so rather not do the park thing ether. I was thinking Vizcaya b/c it's so beautiful but it's $125 plus tax to take professional pictures there...

Hi everyone,

My name is Mia, and I got married in Tampa on a very rainy Friday (March 14th) of this year. I thought I'd join in case I have any good recommendations to pass along. Well, that and really I just love reading about people's wedding plans. :)

Hello, all!

I guess since I appear to be the mod (did I make this? Oh, I did...), I should introduce myself.

I'm Ann, I'm a 22-year-old Florida bride, originally from Kailua, Hawaii, but I've lived in Orlando since 1990, and Gainesville since 2004 (for college). I'm getting married in Orlando at my old parish there (Catholic wedding... I also made catholicbride!), and having the reception in Harmony, Florida. My fiance is Paul/chather/Ducky, and we got engaged on 12/31/2007, so we're coming up on the 4-month mark. I'm a senior at UF, majoring in anthropology, and I want to be an archaeologist.

The userinfo on my journal has more if you're really terribly curious. So... um... hi! :D

Hey, all! I'm a native Floridian getting married in Orlando THIS June 22. It's coming up fast and I'm almost done with my planning. I've got a couple of things left to do and then I just have to sit back and wait for the big day to roll around. I'll probably be posting a progress post in weddingplans and can post it here as well. If anyone needs any recommendations for Central Florida vendors, let me know! I'd be more than happy to help.

Also, does anyone know of a good hair salon in Orlando/Winter Park that's open on a Sunday? I wanted to go somewhere to get my hair done and save on the traveling expense, but I can't find a place that has Sunday hours!
